No ministry news today - just a thought. In my experience talking to people, high on their lists in life is making a difference. You can make a lot of money and have great fame but at the end of your life I don't think these are the things that will be on your mind. What you will be thinking about are people. You will be thinking about your family, friends and others who have passed through your life. And specifically, you will be considering whether you made a difference in their lives. Are they better off because they knew you? Are their lives better in some way because of your involvement in their lives?
As believers in Christ this is especially important. Because God's Word expects us to love and care for those around us. And it is those who have the greatest need that deserve our greatest attention. Whether we pass a person on the street this afternoon or travel around the world to meet them it is our responsibility to love and act. I don't know exactly what that looks like for you. That is for you to decide. That is between you and God. But whatever it is or looks like, just do it. Cheryl's life verse is Proverbs 3:27. "Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it's in your power to help them." When you see someone in need today, consider that to be a challenge from God. A challenge for you to personally meet that need. If we all do this, the world will be a difference and better place. Serving on your behalf, Jim & Cheryl Warner It is hard to believe that we are in 2015. The Jews have a saying, "Another year closer to Jerusalem." Well, Christians can say, "Another year closer to eternity!" In my book, a great perspective.
A couple of weeks ago Cheryl and I had the opportunity to attend the Global Training Network annual conference in Phoenix. Global Training Network is a group of 90 seasoned Christian men and women dedicated to training and encouraging pastors around the world. I had seen photos of them all. But it was finally great to actually meet many of them. They are a wonderful and passionate group of people. And they are fun to be with, as well. The theme of the conference was God's grace. What a great reminder that we have this great hope within us solely based on the grace of God. We also made some great ministry connections. Lord willing, we will be ministering with one of them in Haiti in May. Speaking of Haiti . . . . It as been exactly one year since we ended our 3-year stay at NVM in Haiti. Again, time flies by so quickly. The ministry there continues and we will be returning again soon to help in any way we can. Cheryl continues her support of the ministry to Haitian women. The ladies continue to create craft items to make a living to support their families. Raw materials need to be brought in and finished product brought out. Cheryl will also encourage the workers there and lend additional training. I will be working with NVM's director, Esperandieu Pierre. I will also be coming alongside Gami Ortiz who heads up the ministry to local pastors. Lord willing we will be traveling to Haiti in March. It also looks like we will be returning to Haiti in May do conduct training for Haitian pastors through a different ministry. We are talking with fellow GTN staff member Jim Baugh about training together on that trip. Jim has been there in the past to conduct evangelism training. On this trip, we will be focusing on discipleship training. Building Christian leaders is a tremendous need in Haiti. This will be required to expand God's Kingdom and to reach Haiti for Christ. We want to thank you all again for your prayers and support. We can not do this without you. And we would love to hear from you so we can keep connected and keep you in our prayers. Serving on your behalf in Haiti and around the world, Jim & Cheryl Warner In three weeks we will be returning to Haiti. After living in Haiti for three years, we have relocated back to Wylie near Dallas. And while we are thoroughly enjoying Texas, we miss Haiti. We are committed to returning to Haiti and Nehemiah Vision Ministries 4 times each year.
Cheryl will continue her work with Haitian ladies who are producing beautiful crafts and Jim will be working with Pastor Pierre training pastors. Please be praying for our preparation and fund raising for the trip. And we will post a report with photos after we return. Thank you for your interest and partnership. Ministering on your behalf in Haiti, Jim & Cheryl On May 1, Jim and Cheryl Warner started a new chapter of their ministry at Global Training Network.
For the past 12 years, Jim and Cheryl have served on the staff of CRU. During that time they led many mission teams to various parts of the world. And for the past three years, they have been living in Haiti. While there they hosted nearly 20 mission teams. |
